"Yukon Brad" Booth
Among some of the big names in poker today, Brad Booth is up in the ranks
and known to be a player that's worth watching and taking notes over. Booth
was born in the year of 1976, on the 20th Sept. A Canadian, he comes from
the city of Vancouver, the place of his birth.
From a very young age, he would watch his family play card games which probably paved the way toward an early interest in gaming. He picked up and learned about any kind of information that he could when relatives played and he would even try to give advice to them on what moves to make next even though he was too young to play at the time. As a boy he learned how to play poker and from there, went on to try and increase his game and everything that he knew on the game of poker. Brad would even hold small poker games of Omaha, Draw, and others with people from school to challenge himself and get better at what he was doing- all the while having fun while he was at he it.
While at the age of fifteen, he quit school and got a job to help him fund his poker playing. How could he get away with doing this without someone finding out what was going on? He hid this "secret life" from his parents so that he could get the car that they were going to buy him when he turned sixteen and also so he could come up with a game plan to get his life together as well. Life has proven to be a great path of twists and turns for Booth, and he was very fortunate - since many people are not always so lucky to have things turn out the way that they did.
With many hardships and things that were going wrong after he had left home, Booth still pulled on a tried to make things work. After his (adoptive) mother died, he went up to Haines Juction, Yukon and worked to get his life back into order the way that he wanted. In a close by city, he would go play poker at the casino. Making things work and cooking up new ideas was something that would help him to come up with just the thing that would get him to where he needed to be.
Brad Booth first set foot in Las Vegas, NV in the year of 2002. His first big win was at the WSP in 2005 where he came out in twelfth place. In the following year, he also banked more than three-hundred thousand dollars, adding even more impressive victories to his poker journey. Booth has come to be known as "Yukon Brad" to many of his fans as well as fellow poker players and most understand that he is someone that is worth taking a page from. He has been seen on television on quite a few poker shows and has been within the likes of many, many poker greats of today.
